Safeguarding

Our Family First programs focus on ensuring that individuals have the right to live in a safe environment free of abuse and neglect. Covering areas including domestic abuse and serious youth violence, educating others to ensure understanding of the differences between youth culture and gang culture, and intervention work within the community.

‘The Struggle to Success’ program will train service users to recognise and address trauma, build resilience, and learn appropriate help seeking behaviours. The program’s aim is to increase healthy relationships within the homes and community, mitigating domestic abuse and sexual and child exploitation. Individuals of vulnerable ages or from disadvantaged backgrounds who have been impacted by domestic violence, gang affiliation, sexual exploitation, county lines, or have lost the ability to safely care for or protect themselves from significant harm or exploitation, are among those at risk in the community who would benefit from these programs.

Equity and equality training focuses on teaching member individuals to address and eliminate the extent to which inequalities and disparities impact members of the community. In raising awareness of societal issues that disproportionately impact communities including marginalisation, discrimination, institutional racism, and unconscious bias.
